The Passopisciaro Contrada ''R'' Rampante is made from over 100-year-old vines, planted in the highest vineyard on the north side of the famous volcano, Mount Etna. The last vineyard to be harvested due to its altitude (1,000 metres), this exceptional terroir of 1.7 hectares lies on a thin layer of crumbled lava and sandy soil.
"Brilliant ruby red with a delicate light edge. Noble and inviting nose, of candied citrus zest, rose hips, wild strawberries, plus a hint of dried red flowers, with a soft aftertaste of wet stone. On the palate with beautiful juiciness and polished red berries." - Falstaff, 94 points
