A blend of Tempranillo, Merlot and Albillo.
The quality curve goes up exponentially with the Arzuaga Reserva. The Tempranillo is over 95% of the blend. The wine spent 30 months in new French oak barrels which besides helping the components integrate, added a subtle spice flavour to the wine. The finish is very long. The Reserva is in that sweet spot where you can understand why both the winery and Ribera del Duero in general are popular red wine destinations for connoisseurs.
