From the Contrada Chiappemacine that is lower on the Etna elevation scale at just 550 meters above sea level, the Passopisciaro Contrada C offers a fine and floral interpretation of Nerello Mascalese. This delicate and graceful wine has underlined aromas of wild rose and pressed violet. There are plenty of earthy and ashy aromas as well that frame a core of sour cherry and tart cassis.
"Violet and spice box notes waft from the glass of this round, lightly chewy red, with a fragrant skein winding through flavours of crushed cherry and strawberry fruit and hints of loam and chocolate. Fresh and lingering on the smoke-tinged finish. Drink now through 2033." - Wine Spectator, 93 points
