The Passopisciaro Contrada P Porcaria has a rich display of black cherry, licorice, tar and smoke. Dark and brooding in character at first, a silky wave of black fruit and minerals evolve into a more tactile display of fine-grained tannins and savoury exotic spice as the Passopisciaro Contrada P Porcaria opens up. The Porcaria is almost salty at times, saturating to the senses and youthfully clenched. Notes of currants and tobacco linger incredibly long. This wine will require some time in the cellar to show its best, but it will be well worth the wait.
"Aromas of Mediterranean scrub, eucalyptus, smoky flint and wild berries mingle with dark spice. On the full-bodied palate, bright acidity lifts raspberry compote, licorice, slate and blood orange. Taut, polished tannins provide support while the warmth of alcohol lingers on the close." - Wine Enthusiast, 94 points
