The Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hauts Lieux is a total rock star in the vintage and checks in as a blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre and the balance Counoise and Cinsault, which was aged all in foudre. It possesses gorgeous purity, with mineral-tinged aromas of blackberry, currants, licorice, ground herbs and violets all soaring from the glass. An all-around powerful, structured and rich 2018, with a full-bodied mouthfeel, terrific acidity and big tannin, it will be one of the longest-lived wines in the vintage.

The Vieille Julienne Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hauts Lieux is made from grapes harvested from limestone soil vineyards sited at higher elevation and cooler climate. This terroir allows the grapes a longer hang time to develop its flavours more completely. The result is a wine that is all rounded, powerful, structured and rich, with a mix of red and black fruits flavours. The combination of firm tannins and acidity is such that the Les Hauts Lieux is a wine that you can drink now with decanting (up to an hour), or simply stash it away for cellaring for another 10 years.
