Movia Lunar 2017 (1L)

Winery: Movia
Country: Other countries
Region: Others
Body: Light medium
Varietal: Chardonnay
From the Goriska Brda region in Slovenia.
A blend of Chardonnay and Ribolla.
The Movia Lunar has a deep amber colour. On the nose, the wine shows spicy woody note, hinting at incense and fine herbs. The Movia Lunar shows a true presence on the palate, which is only enhanced by decanting. As sediment filters out and a rush of oxygen aerates the liquid, the wine’s full textural and aromatic spectrum can be best appreciated. Terroir expressive, the Movia is dry, layered, elegant yet complex, and simply unique!
This is a 1 litre format.

As the names suggests, after harvest, the organically grown grapes are put into an earthern vat where juice is extracted by the weight of the grapes crushing those at the bottom. The juice is left to macerate for 8 months (8 lunar cycles) in contact with the skins in oak barrels. Fermentation takes place naturally and the wine is bottled at full moon without refining, filtering or adding sulphur. It then rests for 6 months before being released for sale. The Movia Lunar is an authentic orange wine with minimal intervention by the winery. There are a lot of sediments comprising of must and lees at the bottom of the bottle. Chill well and pour slowly or into the decanter before serving.
