Pours with a lacy white mousse that overlays a pale straw coloured and pale gold edged base wine finely threaded by a very persistent bead. Finessed and complex, intense aromatics of citrus, toast, yeast lees and bready characters flow out of the glass with subtle elements of lightly honeyed roasted cashews following on. Remarkably fresh the rich yet stimulating, the Krug Vintage Champagne's palate is an essay in sophistication and class. Citrus, toast, oily bread and yeast lees characters intermesh over a backdrop of roasted almonds and delicately honeyed cashew. Dry finish with a light airy structure and mouth watering acidity giving it plenty of tension to counterpoint the subtlety creamed texture. Very long and refined aftertaste of yeast lees, oily toast like characters, baked bread, infusions of citrus, roasted almonds and lightly honeyed cashews. Will only get better with further bottle age.
