1853 Old Vine Estate Selected Parcel Malbec 2019

Winery: 1853 old vine estate
Country: Argentina
Region: Mendoza
Body: Full
Varietal: Malbec

The 1853 Old Vine Estate Selected Parcel is the most prestigious Malbec series at the Estates. "1853" was the year in which Argentina's signature grape Malbec was exported from France to Argentina, while "Old Vine Estate" refers to the grapes' origin from a +100 year old vineyard in La Consulta. 1853 Old Vine Estate Selected Parcel Uco Valley Malbec is a solid wine with a unique depth in its texture. It is muscular with an incredible purity tasting like dark fruits and wet earth. Full body, with hints of charcoal and dark tea to keep it balanced.

"This is a really beautiful old-vine red with blackberry, black olive and bark character. It's full and layered, yet tight and intense. Such great length. From vineyards planted 1910 in Consulta." - James Suckling, 95 points
