18 months in French barriques (35% new barriques).
The Mount Horrocks Cabernet Sauvignon is biodynamically produced from a low yielding single vineyard. Only 130 cases were produced.
The Mount Horrocks Cabernet Sauvignon shows great depth of colour. Classic cabernet aromas of black currant and herb with a hint of green leaf. A wine of great concentration, deeply flavoured with fine-grained, stylish tannins, lovely oak integration and tremendous length of flavour. Composed and elegant, this is a wine for the finest meal and/or a well selected cellar. To 2040 if you have the patience.
"Matured for 18 months in French oak (35% new). This is beautiful. A medium bodied, super-elegant, superfine cabernet. It remains true to its Clare roots with dark chocolate and cocoa scattered throughout the veritable forest of black and purple berries. The acidity is fresh and juicy and countersunk into all aspects of the fruit. In fact, the wine is so seamlessly dovetailed at all junctures (oak, fruit, acid, tannins), that is moves into the supple, slinky, willowy space. This is a truly beautiful wine." - James Halliday, 96 points
