The Penfolds Max's Cabernet Sauvignon is dark red with crimson hues. On the nose, pPink peppercorn, chargrilled zucchini and barbequed red meats is the instant perfume. Cedar and lavender incense waft in the background.

The wine is taut in texture, with fine tannins and a savoury profile. Cranberry represents the red fruit spectrum, with lingering flavours of yellow plum, bay leaf and sage. Root vegetable earthiness is evident on the finish. Structurally framed by beautifully integrated French and American oak, present but rarely mentioned.
