The Famille Chermette winery traces its roots to 1636, when the Vissoux family was first recorded in Beaujolais. Established over generations, the estate grew with the construction of a cellar in 1873 and was revived in 1946 by Eugénie Vissoux and Maurice Chermette. Their son Pierre-Marie modernised production from 1982, focusing on quality and bottled wines. The domaine expanded, adopted sustainable practices, and, with Jean-Étienne Chermette’s leadership from 2017–2023, continues blending tradition with innovation.
