Founded in Haro, Rioja, in 1879, C.V.N.E. stands for Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España, or Northern Spanish Wine Company. Still family-run after five generations, this historic wine house combines tradition with a spirit of innovation. Its eight wineries span Spain’s celebrated regions, from Rioja’s Viña Real and Contino to Ribera del Duero’s Bela. C.V.N.E. is best known for its elegant Rioja reds, particularly Imperial, whose 2010 Gran Reserva was named Wine Spectator’s Wine of the Year in 2013.
