Appellation: St. Joseph
Grape Varietal: Marsanne.
The M Chapoutier Saint Joseph Les Granilites Blanc has a strong yellow colour with bright green highlights. On the nose, the wine is fresh, with delicate notes of white flowers and white-fleshed fruit (peaches, pears), delicious aromatic notes, underscored by lovely, smooth oakiness. Fresh and well-balanced on entry, the M Chapoutier Saint Joseph Les Granilites Blanc has a nice volume with delicious, dessert-like notes, mineral tautness and a long lingering finish.
"“Here's [M Chapoutier Saint Joseph Les Granilites Blanc] a white St. Joseph that has the minerality we associate with this appellation in excess! Sleek, focused and concentrated with a very stony personality. The fresh and candied citrus aromas are just beginning to open up. Extremely long, filigree finish. Great aging potential.” - James Suckling, 95 points
"A blend of two parcels of vines - a vineyard in Mauves and the lower portion of lieu-dit Saint Joseph - the Saint-Joseph Blanc Les Granilites displays aromas of pencil shavings, quince and lime. It's medium-bodied, showing more fat than the Deschants bottling, but still not a big, rich wine; it is plump and succulent, with a long, citrusy finish." - RP, 91 points
""The [M. Chapoutier] Saint Joseph Les Granilites Blanc is a step up, offering bright citrus, candied lemon, and floral notes in a medium-bodied, elegant, mid-weight yet beautifully balanced package. It shows the fresher style of the vintage and is going to keep for 4-5 years as well. I'd happily drink a glass.” – Jeb Dunnuck, 90 points
