This is a 3000ml (double magnum) format.
The Avignonesi Capannelle 50 & 50 is a wine made jointly by Avignonesi and Capannelle. It is a wine that interprets the distinctive qualities of two wine areas, among the oldest in Tuscany, in a surprising double terroir expression: Chianti (Capannelle) soil, rich in clay, and the clay soil of Montepulciano (Avignonesi). The characteristics of the 2 different terroir combine perfectly in the choice of vines. The Sangiovese Capannelle leads to blend structure, tannins and austerity, while the Avignonesi Merlot contributes with elegance, softness and depth. Aging in French oak barrels lasts for 18 months.
The Avignonesi Capannelle 50&50 2010 has a deep, dark ruby colour. The 2010 vintage is elegant and refined, with fresh notes of red and black berries, backed up by sweet spices and an underlying touch of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and silky soft, with an elegant, fruity core and a long-lingering, pleasantly dry finish. A wine for long ageing in the bottle.
