Appellation: Vino de Pago (La Mancha)
100% Cencibel (a clone of Tempranillo)
Pago Florentino in La Mancha is one of only 22 wineries awarded with the Pago de Vinos designation. Pago de Vino is a classification given to wineries that produce high quality, distinctive wines that speak of the local terroir. The bar is set high for these wineries, which are required to use only fruits from their own vineyards and all production has to be conducted on the estate. The Pago Florentino is made with 100% tempranillo which is called Cencibel in the local dialect. The wine is aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months before release and has a beautiful red fruit based profile similar to those from Rioja. Compared to Ribera del Duero wines, the Pago Florentino is lighter bodied.
