100% Macabeo.
Abeurador means the place where donkeys used to drink water and it is the name of the land parcel from which the macabeo grapes are harvested. The land consists of clay loam soil with calcareous characteristics. The average vine age at the Abeurador vineyard is around 45 years old. Macabeo is often used as the base component in the production of Cava, owing to the vibrant acidity and structure it offers.
The Mendall Abeurador is aged in stainless steel tanks. The wine is fresh and light on the palate with delicious crisp notes of stone fruits and citrus accompanied by enfolding floral notes of chamomile. Because of the age of the vines, the yield is lower but each grape packs more flavours, resulting in a wine that has more flavour weight. It's great especially with shellfish and sea food grills.
