Haut Ferrand is comprised of several plots of vineyard located near the church of Pomerol and purchased in the 1970s by Chateau Ferrand. The vineyards are 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The wine has an intense and deep ruby colour with cherry-red tints. An elegant nose of black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), mingled with spicy and mentholated notes. The Chateau Haut-Ferrand is supple on the palate, revealing mellow tannins and a wonderful balance and a fresh finish. The nose has marvellous freshness and delicacy. This is a superb wine.
