The colloquial term for the region’s replanted gravelly limestone vineyards has given its name to a wine of minerality and precision. Planted on the finest limestone slopes of the appellation, these vines, that are on average 40 years old, produce a wine full of character, personality, precision and minerality. The superb bitter notes derived from the limestone confer length, texture, and remarkable structure whilst retaining the freshness and precision characteristic of our wines. After several years ageing, the A Cailbourdin Pouilly Fume Les Cris offers up all its minerality and structure without sacrificing any of its freshness and precision. The A Cailbourdin Pouilly Fume Les Cris will be an excellent companion for all types of fish dishes (perch, pike, red mullet etc.) and seafood, notably oysters and scallops.
Straw yellow in colour, the A Cailbourdin Les Cris nose shows aromas of fruits (pineapple, citrus, peach) and mineral tones. The wine is powerful, well-structured and very rich. Excellent balance is achieved due to the perfect ripeness of the grapes at harvest.
