The Vega Sicilia Macán is a modern and very personal take on the premium quality and highly expressive wines of the DOCa Rioja. It is a commitment to fineness, elegance, complexity and power. And it is the flagship of Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia, the project launched by Tempos Vega Sicilia and the Compagnie Vinicole Baron Edmond de Rothschild in 2004. The wine is made from grapes harvested from the best plots in high elevation vineyards. It is aged for 16 to 18 months in oak and aged in bottle for at least three years before its release.
The Vega Sicilia Macán has a deep ruby red colour. A highly expressive wine, notes of black raspberry, cherry pie, red fruits and cherry-vanilla flavours are complemented by candied rose, mocha and succulent herb flourishes. Complex and perfectly balanced, the Vega Sicilia Macán ends with a long lingering finish.
