A perennial favourite since we started this business in 2003, we have tasted top notch Rust en Vrede Estate blends vintage after vintage. Big and bold, the Rust en Vrede Estate is a lot closer in style to full bodied Bordeaux than the usually sweeter, fruit driven style of New World reds. The earthy, somewhat leathery undertone of this wine is a particular draw for us. If you are a serial meat eater, this wine will do wonders for you. Rust en Vrede Estate (the winery) is in our opinion South Africa's top red wine producer and this wine is a real eye opener for those who never ever pick up a bottle of premium South African wine. Be prepared for an adventure!
