The Caro Aruma is a pure Malbec made from a blend of grapes from the best terroirs in the Mendoza region. “Aruma” means “night” in the language of the Quechua, the native Indian population of the Mendoza region. The name suggests the deep darkness of the nights in the Andes and the very pure mountain air: the wines have the same rich, authentic character as their terroir.
The Caro Aruma Malbec's robe is intense with a deep ruby colour. The nose is very fruity, with pure aromas of berry fruits, violets and notes of blackcurrant. On the palate, the wine is round, fresh and well balance. Displaying generous aromas of blackberry and red fruits.
"Pretty classy nose with cassis, black cherries and blackberries with plenty of violet extract. Some sweet fruit on the palate with firm, fine-grained tannins. Flavorful and fruity finish. Oak free." - James Suckling, 92 points
"A red with a harmonious profile and a delightfully fruity character featuring cherry, blackberry and plum accompanied by a refreshing touch of wild herbs. On the palate, it’s rounded, smooth and well balanced, with refreshing acidity and juicy tannins before the long, fragrant finish. Aruma is a young, unoaked Malbec made by Bodegas Caro using grapes from the Uco Valley, Mendoza. An easygoing Malbec that pairs very well with cheese and charcuterie." - Decanter, 91 points
