Discover Taurasi, the Barolo of the South

Ever wondered what it feels like to be working under the sun all day and getting your hands dirty, all in the hope of making the best wine possible? As part of our initiatives to make artisanal wineries more accessible to wine lovers, Wines Online is happy to announce the launch of our own YouTube channel. We invite wine personalities to talk to us about what drives them, what they are best at, and why we should drink their wines in our brand new segment of “Tasting with wine personalities”.

In today’s short video (3m 45s), Daniela Mastroberardino, one of the first ladies of Italian wines, talks about her winery Terredora Di Paolo and Taurasi, long considered to be the Barolo of southern Italy. Taurasi is made from the native Aglianico grape in this famous region of Campania. Like Barolo, Taurasi has ageing potential of 20 years and longer. It is one of the most underrated and delectable Italian wines in our opinion. For people who are familiar only with the wines of Piedmonte and Tuscany, this is truly an amazing wine to drink.
