Wines Online Top 40 Wines of 2017

The 2017 list takes on a bigger significance this year as our selection of wines has crossed the thousand label mark. Statistically speaking, the 40 best sellers now represents only about 4% of all the wine labels we sold throughout the year. While compiling the list, we uncovered 2 interesting facts that are worthy of mention. Firstly, even though we have now a sizable selection of large scale producers (read 1 million cases and above) on our website, close to 50% of the wines on the list actually comes from wineries that produce less than 100,000 cases annually. In fact, nearly half of these produce less than 50,000 cases a year. Secondly, we see significantly more repeat purchases of these wines compared to others. Clearly, nowhere is the saying “Small is beautiful” better demonstrated than our Top 40s list. We hope for small winery owners and winemakers who stumble onto this article, this list serves as encouragement that life ain't that bad if you focus on making the good stuff.
