VINTAGE: 2016 WINERY:Lenton brae
COUNTRY: Australia REGION: Margaret
River
BODY:Light
VARIETAL:Semillon & blends
With this release, Lenton Brae celebrates 26 consecutive vintages of Semillon Sauvignon Blanc and can justifiably claim to be one of Margaret River’s leading exponents of this popular wine style. This vintage was warm and dry providing perfect conditions for the early-ripening varieties of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. As with previous releases, the majority was fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness and vitality and at cool temperatures facilitating a gradual conversion of sugar into alcohol by selected yeasts. 8% was barrel fermented in new French oak. The Sauvignon Blanc contributes aromatic elements with the Semillon providing the weight and depth of flavour on the palate.
