This traditionally-produced Clot d'Encis Rosat rosé wine is made from red Grenache. Production starts out from a healthy harvest with a degree of ripening uncommon in a red wine. First a short pre-fermentation cold maceration, followed by a fermentation of the must at controlled temperatures. The result is a wine of intense pink colour with an extremely varietal aroma and fruity taste. On the palate it is fresh, fruity and full-bodied. Each bottle is lovingly crafted and individually numbered.
This is a rose that will surprise anyone who finds rose wines one dimensional and uninteresting. Made from Grenache grapes but topping out only at 13% alcohol, the Clot d'Encis Rosat has great fruits and a chewy structure, yet still manages to keep everything light and friendly. We tasted this wine at various temperatures and were impressed by its versatility. At a temperature typically associated with drinking white wines, we find that the ripe fruit flavours are subtle and nicely balanced by fresh acids. As the wine warms up to room temperature (about 15 degrees celsius for red wines), the ripeness stands out and will impress most red wine drinkers. We recommend serving the Clot d'Encis Rosat chilled and let it warm up slowly and nicely. This wine is perfect for BBQ or a home party.
