In 1980, 1982 and 1984, Best's planted their Thirteen Acre block to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot vines. Until that date, only two hundred and sixteen vines existed on the Concongella vineyard scattered amongst the original 1860s Nursery plantings. Since then the Cabernet Sauvignon has proven its ability to consistently produce wines of excellent structure, style and longevity. The Cabernet Sauvignon is showing fine, fresh, spicy characters with dense berry flavour and long, fine tannins. A wine with power and finesse which speak of the region. The wine was aged predominantly in large format French oak.
