    Country: Spain
    Region: Toro
    Body: Full
    Varietal: Tempranillo & blends

Teso la Monja in D.O. Toro is the reflection of the love and respect renowned Rioja winemaking family Eguren has for the region. The Eguren family which owns famous Rioja wineries Sierra Cantabria, San Vicente and Vinedos de Paganos made their first wines in Toro with Numanthia and Termanthia. After the critical success of these wines, the project was sold to Moet Hennessy, the French luxury wine and spirits group. But not before the Eguren family planted seeds for the Teso la Monja project with a new winery and 100 hectares of vineyard that included 130 year old vines. The Teso la Monja wines are proudly bold as Toro wines are, but older vines yielding less but better quality fruits and careful winemaking result in wines that are nonetheless restrained and complex. With this Teso la Monja Value Pack, we make these wines accessible at wallet friendly prices. Have fun!

Enjoy 20% off the Teso la Monja Value Pack comprising 1 bottle each of the Romanico, Almirez, Victorino and the ultra premium Alabaster.

Teso la Monja Alabaster 2017: "Offers a pure, polished, creamy style that carries awesome black raspberry, cassis, vanilla, spice, and floral aromas and flavors. Its oak is brilliantly integrated, it has the classic 2017 fresh, focused texture, great tannins, and a gorgeous finish. This is just beautifully done, flawlessly balanced, and is going to evolve for 10-15 years." - Jeb Dunnuck, 97 points

Teso la Monja Victorino 2017: "Next up, the 2017 Victorino comes from a cellar selection of the top sites and old vines and is brought up in new French oak. It's another pure, clean, modern styled wine that still has incredible character as well as complexity in its black raspberry, blueberry, kirsch, toasted spice, vanilla bean, and floral aromas and flavors. With medium to full-bodied richness, rocking tannins, and a balanced, seamless mouthfeel, enjoy this beautiful Toro over the coming 10-12 years, if not longer given its balance." - Jeb Dunnuck, 94 points

Teso la Monja Almirez 2018: "Brilliant ruby. Powerful, deep-pitched dark berry, cherry and cola scents are lifted by lively floral and mineral flourishes. Coats the palate with sappy blackberry and bitter cherry flavors that show excellent clarity, complicated by fruitcake, licorice and vanilla nuances. Lingers with superb intensity on a spice- and mineral-driven finish that echoes the dark berry and vanilla notes. Drinking window: 2023 - 2033." - Antonio Galloni, 94 points

Teso la Monja Romanico 2018: "Brilliant violet. Fresh black and blue fruits, vanilla, allspice and a hint of cola on the perfumed nose, complemented by a floral nuance. Silky and appealingly sweet, offering juicy boysenberry and cherry compote flavors and a spicy touch of white pepper. Shows strong energy on the gently tannic finish, which leaves lavender and spicecake notes behind. Drinking window: 2023 - 2029." - Antonio Galloni, 92 points
