1855 Bordeaux Wine Classification (Second Growth) The vines particular, as well as 11 hectares of vines situated on the land of Saint Julien give the wine of Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande an exceptional personality compared to the other crus of the Pauillac appellation. Complexity, elegance and longevity remain the characters race, are found each year in creating vintages. The nose is distinguished by a bouquet of aromas supported mixing blackcurrant and violet, vanilla and cinnamon. On the palate, the tannins present appear mature and melted, revealing affirmed structure, a surprising suppleness, perfect harmony and a long persistence. Young wine is attractive without prejudice to its longevity. James Laube of Wine Spectator has called Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, First Class Second Cru, a phrase that suits it rightly.
